"Maharaja Parksit was lamenting for the tears in the eyes of the bull, and he was astonished to see such an unprecedented thing is his good kingdom." SB1,17,8.
Today we see and hear of horrible things everywhere we look.
When i stop in the car at a red light, there are people, with crooked bodies, or mothers holding babies, breathing in the fumes all day, to make money to eat. I walk into a supermarket and the tortured bodies of animal are displayed for sale. The man next to me reads a newspaper with a picture of a decapitate man, a victim of war. I watch a documentary on how parents in some countries in Africa don´t even ask their children how they are, because they know, they are hungry and weak and unhappy. My husband's colleague goes to his well paid job high on coke and is about to get the sack.
Yet, my heart does not feel much for this suffering. How am i ever to love with such a hard heart?
Srimati Radharani, You are the embodiment of mercy and compassion, please help me to become soft hearted and learn to love.
