The principles of religion stand on four primary regulative observances, austerity, cleanliness, mercy and truthfulness.
"There are different countries in different parts of the world, and each and every country may have different types of sacrifice to please the Supreme Lord, but the central point in pleasing Him is ascertained in the Bhagavatam, and it is truthfulness. The basic principle of religion is truthfulness, and the ultimate goal of all religions is to satisfy the lord." (SB1,17,33)
Why truthfulness?? Is it because we need to understand the truth to please God? Understand that we are not really meant for this marginal energy of His, that we need understand that tasting the fruits on the material tree will not satisfy the spirit self, that we are parts and parcels of God and are at home when we are lovingly serving Him??? Is this the truthfulness, that Prabhupada means, that will help us reach the goal of Pleasing Krsna?
I will ask??
